CARITAS Livelihood Program – Entrepreneurship

Yes, I’m a scholar at CARITAS Manila.

To those who don’t know, CARITAS Manila is a religious group or organization that helps people somehow in their basic needs. But it is really a BIG help. And for a student like me, CARITAS Manila helped by giving monthly allowances plus miscellaneous fee.

And what I’m going to share is today’s Livelihood Program – Entrepreneurship by CARITAS Manila.
It was really a super simple yet striking discussion. It was discussed by Tita Daisy and Ate Emma.

The main focus of the discussion is Holiness in Work (Kabanalan sa Paggawa)

There are 2 types of Work
1. Free Service
- A voluntary act. Free of service.
2. Livelihood/Work for Living
-
Meaning it is not for free of service anymore, there’s corresponding fee in anything that you do.

The discussion also includes the small business work. It says there that even though we’re still a student we can start a business on our own. In seminar, here are guidelines in starting a business:

1. Planning Before doing so, you must plan what business you will start. Best is what business that is close to your heart, it can be your hobby, or what you want to do regularly. And one thing more, also consider in your business if it will also help others.

2. Right Place Consider where there are lot of customers passes by, and where you can get your materials easily.

3. Costing You should price your products at the right price.

4. Customer ServiceYou should dwell well at people. You should know how to accompany your customers.

And that’s what I learned for today. Thanks CARITAS Manila! Thanks Tita Daisy and Tita Emma. GOD bless!

A Gift for Our Daddy

It's Daddy O's birthday! On Nov. 17.
And because it's KCon on Nov. 18, 19, 20, we can't celebrate it on next Friday on Feast Manila (Nov. 18) that's why the celebration was today - 11.11.11.

Yes. I made it. And it's AktiFEASTas (including me) gift for him.
Behind that picture was our own dedication for him.

And here is my dedication that has been unsaid.
"Actually while I'm doing this photo mosaic of yours, I had a big smile on my face. Because this is my chance to give you something even a small thing and also my chance to give you a personal message.
I wish you a happy happy happy birthday Daddy O!
Thank you for everything!
For being our Daddy!
I love you Daddy!
Hugs! :) "

Daddy Obet Cabrillas is our,
mentor,
friend,
inspiration
and
blessing!

We thank God for having a Daddy like him. Thank God for giving us a blessing!

Caring Group of Fiat Serviam Choir

Actually I just got home from our CG. CG means Caring Group, Caring Group we had for the very first time of my fiat serviam choir mates.

Me, Kuya Orly, Ate Lheiah, Sarah, Maricar, Em em, Maynard, Kim, Julie Ann, and Lester were present. Bianca was absent and one didn't attend, but I understand it.

We started after the 6pm mass..

Like what I have said this cg was our first time, so I didn't expect that it will turn out like this!
Yes. I can say it was a success. It was a blessing that it turns out like this. :)

I was blessed in what they have shared.
The experiences, the knowledge, and the grieves.
Yeah even grieves, 'cause I know, God will use this grieve for us to strengthen, and to trust Him even more. :)

I thank God because my choirmates liked already the cg, and they're craving for more! :))
And they're all thanking me for having this activity. But it is Him, He just make me as an instrument.
But also I want to thank the CG Head workshop we had this Saturday, it helped a lot! haha. Applying what I have learned already.  :D

And to be honest, the time was not enough, so even after the cg, we continued.
Until one by one of us will say good bye and get home. hahaha.

Looking forward for the next cg. :))

And to summarize, I super thank God for the cg, the bonding that will build our relationship to one another and the bonding that will build our relationship to you Lord God!

God Feels Your Pain a Zillion Times More.

Problems are part of life.
But that’s okay.
You’ve heard me say this a lot of times before, because it’s my core belief:
In every problem, there’s a blessing.
In every trial, there’s a treasure.
Jesus said,
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
God Feels Your Pain More Than You Do.
One day, when my nephew Marco was a small boy, he had a freak fall. He suffered a deep gash on his head. His father, Abel, held his son as the doctor was stitching the gaping wound.
Naturally, the small boy was crying and struggling. But his father couldn’t do anything but hold him firmly. Little Marco couldn’t understand why his Daddy was allowing this doctor to hurt him. So in agony, he screamed, “I hate you, Dad! I hate you!”
The words stung his father’s heart. But with tears, Abel kept embracing his son and said, “This will only be for a minute. Trust me!”
If you are grieving right now, understand that God is grieving with you. He feels your pain – much more than you feel yours.
You won’t read this in any theology book, but this is my theory:
That God feels your pain a zillion times more.
Why?
Because He loves you a zillion times more than you love yourself. That’s why.
- Bo Sanchez

I just want to share this. :)) It’s from Feast Manila Bulletin. :)

Be Hopeful.

Be hopeful

It's today's topic.

And it's my first time serving The Feast Manila!
Super enjoy! :))
Super happy! :))
I met a lot of friends. :))
I really enjoy serving. :)) Gives me incredible feeling. :))

Waah. I just missed our cg on pup. End of story.

TGIF!

Be Open.

Be desperate for God!

"Hindi ka ginising ng Diyos at binigyan ng panibagong buhay para sumimangot at maging masungit."

Many people think that happiness is based on the things that you get in life.
The truth is it's not.
Happiness is an attitude, an internal disposition.
Happy people always focus on the joy inside their heart.

And do you want to know one of their success?

It's openness.

Happy people are always open for the blessings that is to come.  They prepare their life and their heart to receive the bountiful abundant blessings from God.  They are not like the proud who think that they are all worthy or the pitiful who believe they are not unworthy.  Happy people think that they become worthy because of the love of God.

So do you want to be happy?

Then open yourselves to the Lord! :))  - IC of Feast Manila

Confession

Yes! Finally! I made a confession this day.

If you will read my post on my tumblr, you will know what my problem was or what my heart been experiencing through.

It’s been 3 weeks? Or a month? Since I got confused, depressed and really got angry. Yes I really got angry to this person that I once refer as my friend. Sigh. If you will only know how feel down I was.

And the past 3 weeks, guess what, the gospel and the homily of Father Alex, where I was attending the holy mass, the topic is Forgiving. Yes, I know, God is talking to me. And not just, the daily soulfood article of Bro. Bo. Sanchez, the topic is also forgiving! Awesome! Amazing! God really wants me to forgive her, God really wants me to be out of the jail that I’ve been experiencing through. ‘Cause the more I keep my hatred in my heart, the more it will destroy me.

And on this day, Sunday, September 8, 2011, me and my choirmate Maricar, confess.

We make confession after 6pm mass. And when I start confessing, tears fell down on my face, like a flowing river, I can’t control myself, it just burst out. And in that time I really surrender it all to Him. Oh Lord, forgive me for I have sinned and what I confess, promise, I will really forgive! ‘Cause I know in the first place, I don’t have the privilege to not forgive, cause on how merciful You was in me, in us, I am really nothing…

But now, thank you for enlightening me.

I feel relieved! I feel purified! And I am really at peace now!

Thank you Lord GOD! ^_^

A productive day.

September 15, 2011.

We have a class from 11:30am to 06:00pm.
3 subjects :
-Mobile Applications Development
-Humaties
-HEKAPI

And if my subject classes was the basis on my day it was counterpart of my title of this post. haha.
Cause what we do on Mobile Applications Dev’t is just none. Kidding. Sir announced our final project on his subject. And that’s it.

We have no class on Humanities.

Also in HEKAPI.

Great!

I just waste my allowance. hahaha.

But the unproductive day turns out to be productive! :)

- We attended the CG on PUP Feast.
My soul has nourished with the peace and word of God. Thanks for those I am with.

- We attended the Norton Inner Circle 2012 launch.
Yeah! And my brain was educated by the new technology NIC presents!

Thanks for this day. Specially the for Lady Kathrine Rose Bulabos, the girl am with the whole day! :)))))

Norton Inner Circle

(Credits this picture to NIC fan page)

(For this picture, credits to Mr. Jayson Lucto)

The 2012 Launch of Norton by Symantec!

Wow! It’s just wow!

It’s my first time attending that event, I’m not a member, and my classmate Lady Kathrine Rose is the one who invited me, thanks to her!

I like the place, the food, the games, the speakers of this event and the freebies!

Talking to freebies, got disappointed cause I don’t get one. But there are next times so better luck next time!

The experienced was a blast! I got educated by how millions experienced cybercrimes, and also the different anti virus that can protect your pc and not only the pc’s, also the mobile phones you have. And from the statistics stated on this event, the best antivirus is – Norton. haha! I got excited by the new features of Norton antivirus and how will it protect your personal information or privacy’s in your gadgets. It’s just wow! Amazing!

But the truth is I don’t use Norton, haha, but after this event, I want one! And as far as I remember, they will be giving free Norton anti-virus. :) Am I right? haha. If no, I will find ways. Haha.

By the way, thanks for the Norton freebies. :)

Notebook. Mobile Security. Ballpen.

My nametag on the event.

Norton taglines:
Protecting Stuff that matters.

You can be a SUPERHERO!

It’s my 2nd time attending CG (Caring Group) in PUP Feast! And I was even blessed once more!
And before we start of course we pray, then introduce ourselves and when we are introducing ourselves, there’s a twist, we will also tell our favourite cartoon character.
So Kuya Joel – Doraemon, Michael – Doraemon, Sheila – Spongebob, Ann – konan, Jem – Sailormoon, and Kath – Naruto.

Our CG topic for today is about heroes.

But before the topic was made, Kuya Joel, the president of PUP Feast, tell us a story, about the miraculous Lady of Fatima. :)

And back to the topic. We share different real superheroes like Lastikman, Darna, and Captain Barbel. And what we do that is we must tell why they’re the one we choose. And most of the answers were ofcourse, it’s a Pinoy superhero, and like them or like every real superhero do, they help people who are in need, they set aside their own life for others.

And in that, Kuya Joel ask us if there’s a moment that we become a hero?

Of course, the answer is yes.

And after hearing their sharings, I was amazed! Cause they’re not only heroes, their superheroes
But what I’m trying to say here is even though we don’t have that super powers, we can also be a hero by just simple acts.

Like Kuya Michael had said
“ There’s no Little acts cause in God it’s a lot. ” :)
And I know, like us, there’s a time that you also encounter that simple act to help others or you set aside your own for others sake.

I know, you have experienced that. :)

And to end this, I hope we will continue to be a superhero. Yes, you can be a SUPERHERO! :) Cause every little good acts counts. And remember, what you do to others is what you do with God too. :)

I am blessed, enlightened. GOD bless us all! ^_^

1 year anniversary of PUP FEAST!

Had a blast!
Super happy! ^_________^
Hahahahaha!
And up until now, I had a hangover. I can't get over it.
I super enjoyed the event!
1 year anniversary of PUP Campus Feast! The first Feast campus mission.

And in the event, I am one of the dancers that even though I do not perfectly know the steps, I just go for it and dance in front of them. Only in the chorus of the song I can dance well. Haha! But even though I can't remember all the steps, I am super HAPPY and I super ENJOY dancing! :) Why? Cause I'm happy serving God! It's an honor to serve Him!

And thank you to all the dancers of dance ministry who guide me in dancing, especially to Ate Rox. She is a great dancer indeed. And also to Jessy, Mariah, James, Camille and Joel (the currently president of PUP Campus Feast). Amazed. They do their best in dancing. And in that, you will go with it too! Really! Haha. And to all the servants who attended, thank you very much!

And I just want to share, Kath, my classmate, she attended! She's from Malabon and we do not have a class today so I just want to acknowledge, thank you Lady Kathrine Rose Falcunit Bulabos! :)

Wanted MSP in PUP!

It's a very very very long time since I last updated this blog.
And actually, I am starting again this blog because of the last event happened this day.

MSP or Microsoft Student Partners we're looking for a student/s that can be a bridge to the current technology provided by Microsoft.

Yeah! Actually this searching for future MSP, we've known this for about a month but we didn't try. We're too scared, and don't have that confidence to just even try. But we're dreaming to be one.

And this day,  me and Kathy, my classmate who's very very close to me, invited some of our classmates to join or just try to be part of MSP.

It was difficult to invite my classmates. Their asking for explanation. What is MSP, what is MSP for, and etc.?  We tried our best to convince them and in the end, Zion, Aaron, Gil, Patrick, Ian, Kath and me, decided to try. Though we're few, I was contented 'cause I have that convincing power. haha! So we're 7 students from our section. Atleast. So we printed our resume, one of the req'ts. Our resume were not that updated, most resume are last updated when we look for an OJT that's why the objectives of our resume is for on the job training. Hahaha.

And this is it, the interview session. MSP students were the interviewer.  One by one and per interview, it last for about 10-20minutes! Long interview session! Haha. That's why when I am near to be next, I felt I want to turn back, I got panicked, I felt that I just want to go home, but, time comes and I am the interviewee. I'm second to the last who entered room S413(the interview session held) for interview. At first, I was so very very nervous, but in latter part, I got confident in the questions Sir Donn, the interviewer and msp in pup, asked me. It was just like chatting to him and sharing some experiences and advertising. Haha. I got closed to him immediately. Haha!

It's just cool, amazing to be with people who just love technologies and in the IT industry. And for the future results, goodluck, at least we try. I won't regret, and my mind won't bother and ask the questions "What if?". I did my best. If ever I did not pass, at least I have the experienced. And if one of my classmates will pass, I will be happy. :D And I will say to them, be thankful I forced you to try! HAHA. Kidding. :P What will I say to them, "see, you have the guts!" Congrats! And I know one of my classmates will pass, Aaron, Ian, Gil, Pat, Zion, Kath and me was there! haha! We have the guts! Good luck and GOD bless!
We will know the result by Wednesday, sir Donn will e-mail the result.
Thy will be done GOD! :)
